This is great information! We visited several pediatricians before our little one was born and it was time well spent. It also helps to sit in the waiting room for several minutes to see how the office runs and how they interact with patients. When it was time for our little one to be born we felt so much better knowing that we picked his pediatrician before hand and she even came several times to visit us in the hospital too. We feel very lucky!

Great info. We found our daughter’s pediatrician because he did a presentation at our lamaze class. We just immediately loved him & when we found out that he had been the the head of the Pediatric Epidemiology Dept for the Centers for Disease Control for 8 years, well that cinched it. He has been wonderful. And really endeared himself to me with his kindness while Ro was in the NICU.

I wish more parents would do this instead of just going with the first one on the list or the one nearest their home. A good doctor is hard to find.

Great information and I didn’t realize that “interviews” like this were possible or even existed. We just felt lucky when a pediatrician was accepting new clients, lol! We used friends for reference to find our pediatrician but even with that it would have been nice to have had this list for our first appointment. I suppose it’s true that everyone has their own set of policies and beliefs…it’s important to make sure you mesh well beforehand.

That is good info to know! We didn’t really shop around, just picked one that was a friend of my in-laws and went to med school with my FIL. I like him, but honestly I don’t know if I would have chosen to go there without the recommendation. He seems to forget a lot of things about my daughter until I bring them up again. Great advice for any mom!
