In An Instant – Review & Giveaway

Submitted by admin on June 1, 2009 – 2:43 am155 Comments

In an Instant Heidi Klum is a fashion icon.  When I think of her, I automatically think of Project Runway as I have followed some of the seasons.  She has made a great name for herself, so I was interested to try her new line, In an Instant.

As taken from the website, In an Instant, here are Heidi’s thoughts behind her line:

“Life should be about feeling good. When you feel good, you look good. The reality is – our days are usually hectic and busy, so I wanted to create a line of skin care products that look and feel amazing.”

The line consists of 6 products:

  • Gentle Foaming Cleanser
  • Instant Daily Tinted Moisturizer
  • Intensive Firming Serum
  • Instant Warming Scrub
  • Intensive Eye Treatment
  • Instant Wrinkle Smoother

Pros:  I believe in order to really get the pros and cons from a skin care line, I need to use it for at least a few weeks to see how it works for me.  Here is my take:heidi klum

Cleanser
The gentle foaming cleanser is just that.  I have very sensitive skin and it does a great job not irritating.  It has a nice fresh scent that isn’t overpowering.  It’s a light foam and comes in a pump style bottle.

Firming Serum
My favorite product of the whole line is the intensive firming serum.  This moisturizer is amazing!  It is extremely light weight, absorbs quickly, and makes your skin feel like silk.  I’ve never had a moisturizer that made my face feel so soft.  It has a peptide formula which helps with skin rejuvenation, and it firms without making your skin feel tight. A little goes a long way with this product.

Warming Scrub
Next is the instant warming scrub.  It helps exfoliate dead skin cells to keep your skin fresh.  I have an extremely dry t-zone and get a buildup of dead skin easily.  This scrub does a good job of getting rid of that dry dead skin.  It also has that nice soft scent that the cleanser has.

Tinted Moisturizer
The tinted moisturizer is an amazing product because it essentially does the job of of 2 in one.  I really like this because it takes the place of foundation in the summertime, moisturizes your face, and gives you a nice even skin tone.  It also has spf 15 which I always look for in a moisturizer.

Eye Treatment
Eye treatments are something that I haven’t thought too much about until the last few years.  As I’m only in my mid twenties, I don’t have a lot of eye wrinkles.  However, I have seen some appearing here and there as I don’t get as much sleep as I need to.  The Intensive Eye Treatment is a nice thick cream that absorbs quickly and firms on contact.  Some of the before and after eye pictures on the In an Instant site are great, as shown below. In an instant eyes

Wrinkle Smoother
Last, but certainly not least is the Instant Wrinkle Smoother.  The focus of this product is to plump wrinkles and help promote your skin’s natural collagen over time.  The packaging is perfect.  It comes in a small lipstick like tube.  You turn the bottom of the tube to release the desired amount of cream and then apply.  It’s perfect to take along in your purse.

Cons:

Cleanser
I thought the foaming cleanser could have a bit more substance.  I felt like I had to use quite to a bit to clean my face.  I am used to a thicker cleanser that foams more.

Firming Serum
I have absolutely NO complaints about the firming serum. I am actually going to order some of this once my bottle is out, I really think it’s a great product.

Warming Scrub
Since I have sensitive skin, the warming scrub was a bit much for me. It says to use 2-3 times a week, and I found my skin a little irritated. However, when I started using it less, I still got the same great benefits and my skin was better behaved. :)

Tinted Moisturizer
I’d love to see the tinted moisturizer come in different shades.  As long as I didn’t use too much, I could blend it well.  However, I’m quite fair skinned, and if I used too much and didn’t blend it, I had a pretty noticable line.

Eye Cream & Wrinkle Smoother
I don’t have much to compare the eye cream to as I haven’t used many eye creams, but I’m sure over time I will notice a difference in fine lines and wrinkles, and I love using it as a prevention cream as well. I feel the same way about the wrinkle smoother and am going to continue to use it.

Other Thoughts
I would love to see this line come out with a toner.  An alcohol free toner is a must have in my beauty regimen.  I feel like toners do a great job getting rid of excess dirt and makeup that cleansers might leave behind.

The Bottom Line:  A refreshing balanced skin care line.  Did I mention I LOVE the firming serum?

I am most interested in the Instant Wrinkle Smoother. But, I would love to use it with the Warming Scrub. The two together are probably awesome! I’m getting older and the face I see in the mirror does not even closely resemble what the camera records. I’ve GOT to find something that works and if the before and after pics of use of the Wrinkle Smoother aren’t airbrushed, then I would love to try it! It might actually help this face.
