Race FaceIt’s officially summer!  The sun is shining, the weather is warm, and it’s definitely that time of year when Nascar fans are going out to cheer on their favorite racers.  I’ve never personally been to a Nascar race, but I was able to try out a few great new sunscreens licensed by Nascar.

The Race Face Sunscreens include:

  • Continuous Spray Sunscreen (SPF 30)
  • Face and Body Sunscreen lotion (SPF 30)

Pros:  I love the continuous spray sunscreen. It’s really convenient to put on my kids and myself. It’s much quicker than rubbing in a lotion, and provides great protection. It is water and sweat resistant, so you know you are getting the coverage you need. The top is easy to press down, and Chandler likes applying his own sunblock. If he’s happy about putting on sunblock, it’s great because usually my kids moan and complain when I put sunscreen on them. It has coverage for up to 80 minutes which is a good amount of time. I’ve used it on myself and my boys multiple times and it’s done a wonderful job in keeping us from getting burnt.
The face and body lotion sunscreen has great protection as well. It comes in a 2 ounce bottle, which makes it convenient for travel, and even has a clip that you can attach to a diaper bag or purse. It absorbs quickly as well. One unique feature is that it has a bottle opener, something designed for Nascar fans.

Cons: The spray can leave a film on floors if you apply it inside, so I always make sure to apply it outside so you don’t have that problem. It also isn’t optimal for using on your face. You can spray it into your hands and rub it on your face, but I think the lotion is more convenient for face use.
As a mom, I don’t love the bottle opener idea for the small sunblock as I have small kids that could potentially get their hands on it. I think it would be a good idea to have some sort of stopper or protective covering that you could take on and off. I understand it was made for Nascar fans, but that doesn’t mean it won’t ever fall into the hands of kids, right?

The Bottom Line:Great line of sunscreens, perfect for those active in the summer.The American Cancer Society says that over 1 million new cases of skin cancer will be diagnosed in the US this year. Don’t you want to be protected?
