Natural fruit in a pouchNatural Fruit In a Pouch by Peter Rabbit Organics is a healthy, on the go snack. Rowan thinks they are a great treat, and I don’t mind giving them to him as they have no added water, it’s pure fruit.
Peter Rabbit Organics was founded by Mark and Elizabeth Buxton. They simply wanted to be able to find organic foods for children that had no added fillers, but were pure and organic.

Pros: It’s important to me what goes into my little guy’s tummies. I like giving them a product that I know is organic and good for them. Natural Fruit in a Pouch comes in 3 flavors:

  •  Strawberry & Banana
  • Mango, Banana & Orange
  • Apple & Grape

I always try anything before I give it to my boys. The sweetness is just right, and I was pleasantly surprised how close they tasted to real fruit, even though they have no sugar added. The pouch feel and shape remind me of capri suns, however they don’t have a straw. They have a large cap that little kids won’t choke on, and the spout you sip out of doesn’t leak. Chandler wasn’t too fond of the idea of these pouches, and wouldn’t even try them. Typical picky 3 year old, right? Rowan on the other hand went to town! He cried when it was gone because he wanted more. I gave him another pouch, and of course he drank it like it was candy.
These are great to throw in the diaper bag and if they are unopened, they don’t need to be refrigerated. I also think these would be a great alternative to baby food for babies who are used to sucking on a bottle.

Cons: I’m not a huge fan of the texture, it reminds me of baby food. I think I had this impression at first because I tasted them warm. I think the pouches taste better refrigerated but at the same time, Rowan didn’t care if they were cold or warm. It’s also a bit of a pricey snack. I’d love to buy these consistently, but our grocery budget is pretty tight, and I noticed they equal out to be about $1.50 a piece on Amazon. However, organic food in general is more expensive, and it’s hard to put a price on good organic food for growing bodies.
Each pouch is also only 3.5 ounces. I think it would be great if they were offered in a bigger size. I say this because I saw how fast Rowan was able to eat one. He seemed a lot more satisfied after having two of these, as we used them for snacks.

The Bottom Line: Healthy drinkable organic snack for growing bodies. A bit pricey at $1.50 per pouch, but then again you are paying for a natural, organic product.
