Pro Bugs – Review & Giveaway (closed)
Pro Bugs by Lifeway brings a new meaning to drinkable yogurt. I guess it isn’t exactly yogurt, but it reminds me a lot of it, only better. Organic and made with whole milk kefir, these are great for little (and big) tummies.
Pros: We always have yogurt in our home. I really enjoy it and like that it has such great health benefits. Rowan is a yogurt lover as well, and we always have it stocked for him. As he is still fairly young, he always has whole milk yogurt as he needs the fat for brain development. Pro Bugs is drinkable whole milk kefir with a lot of great benefits. When I was reading the description, I had no idea what milk kefir was, so I did a little research. I found out the kefir is a fermented milk drink that has incredible health benefits. As taken from The Organic Living, here are a few health benefits of milk kefir:
* Regulates the body’s immune system and improves resistance to diseases.
* Regulates the blood pressure, blood sugar and cures diabetes.
* Heals the lungs, bronchitis, tuberculosis, asthma, allergies and migraine.
* Has a positive influence on the heart and blood, heals circulatory conditions.
* Heals various eczema, all skin disorders and leads to cure of acne.
These are just a few. If you’d like to read the entire article, click here.
Pro Bugs has 10 live cultures which help aid in digestion. Rowan really loves these, and they really help with his digestion. The pouches are 5 oz each which are the perfect size. They have a no spill spout and are great for snacking. Pro Bugs come in 3 flavors: Orange Creamy Crawler, Goo Berry Pie, and Sublime Slime Lime. They are high in protein and calcium for growing bodies as well. The texture is really creamy and I never found it lumpy or watery which can happen sometimes with yogurt. The sugar is much less than other drinkable yogurts. Most are over 20 grams, and there are only 13 in Pro Bugs. This let me know that it was a very natural product.
Cons: I found the flavors a little bland, but I assume this is because they don’t add sugar. Rowan liked all of the flavors, but the only one that I felt was sweet enough was the Orange Creamy Crawler. I also love these as snacks, but they aren’t very feasible to take with you, unless you are packing a cooler as they need to stay refrigerated. I also wish that there were more retailers that carried these products, as I think the benefits are incredible.
The Bottom Line: Drinkable whole milk kefir with great health benefits.

My daughter loves the pro bugs. I think partly she likes the idea she’s drinking bugs…odd, huh? Anyway, their organic cultured milk products also look good, like the strawberries and cream.
