Bake Me a Wish – Review & Giveaway (closed)
Special occasions are always better celebrated when special measures are taken. Bake Me a Wish knows this and offers gourmet cakes for any occasion. This last week I held a special cause party to raise money for The Center for Courageous Kids. Bake Me a Wish sent a beautiful and delicious Triple Enrobed Chocolate Brownie Cake just for the party.
Pros: The cake arrived in a perishable box and I immediately knew what it was. I opened it up and was really impressed with the presentation. It came in a pretty gold box with a matching card. The card was personalized and added that extra special touch. I was also excited at how delicious it looked. Here is the description of the cake from Bake Me a Wish:
Our moist & fudgy brownie cake goes through three chocolate “passes” before it’s “done”: first it’s enrobed in rich chocolate, then it gets completely blanketed with a shower of dark chocolate shaves; last, the cake is finished with milk and dark chocolate glazes drizzled all over and the Belgian chocolate plaque of your choice; for a brownie dessert that’s over-the-top-triple-delicious!
The top of the cake had a plaque that said “Thank You” which was perfect as guests coming to the party were donating money to a great cause. Upon cutting into the cake, I could tell how moist and dense it was. Is your mouth watering yet?
My impression? It was so delicious. I normally do not like dark chocolate. I’m not a fan of how bitter it is, but the dark chocolate on this cake paired with the milk chocolate is next to perfection. It was a big hit with the guests at the party. What woman doesn’t love an indulgent chocolate cake?
There was a little bit left over from the party, and I put it in the refrigerator. The next morning a little 3 year old culprit got into the cake. Using his bare hands, he broke chunks off and proceeded to eat much of the rest of the cake. He didn’t get in trouble because his mom had been doing the same thing….
He proceeded to tell me how yummy it was and that he wanted more. Guess he knows good cake when he eats it.
Specs
Now that you know just how delicious it was, let’s talk specifications. The classic cakes are 7″ in diameter and serve 6-8 people. We sliced the cake smaller and served many more than 8. There are 7 different plaques that you can choose to put on the top to personalize your event, and there are so many delicious flavors to choose from.
Donating to a Worthy Cause
5% of your order will also be contributed to Bake Me A Wish!’s Operation: Birthday Cake, which, with our partner Soldiers’ Angels donates birthday cakes each month to soldiers overseas.
Isn’t that so cool? I currently have a brother serving overseas in the military, so this hits close to home and it makes me love Bake Me a Wish that much more.
Cons: I don’t have any cons about this cake or service. It was superb and I would definitely recommend it. Two thumbs way way up from this mama!
The Bottom Line: Delicious gourmet cakes delivered right to your door for any occasion.
Price: $15-40 depending on the cake + shipping.
