Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks – Review & Giveaway (closed)
What’s for Dinner?
I’m not a gourmet cook, that’s no secret. But I do enjoy trying new recipes and cooking for my family. I think it stems from my mom. She was always trying new things, and since I’m not a picky person when it comes to food, I was always open to try anything. Luckily I married a wonderful guy who will eat anything I cook, and my kids are pretty open as well. I received a small mail insert from the Gooseberry Patch a few months ago and was impressed with a few recipes they had on it. So after contacting Gooseberry Patch, I was excited to receive these three cook books:
Pros: I’m not a fan of cookbooks that call for a lot of weird ingredients that I can’t find in a normal grocery store or don’t have on hand. One thing I love about the Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks is the fact that they don’t call for a lot of ingredients, and the recipes are simple and easy to follow. At the bottom of each recipe, there are helpful hints and tips that definitely help with dinner and cooking in general. I think this is a neat feature that I haven’t seen in other cook books.
In the Super Fast Slow Cooking cookbook, there are over 200 pages of recipes that only call for 5 ingredients. Awesome, right? I made these fabulous Homestyle Stuffed Peppers which only called for 5 ingredients. They were so simple and delicious.
The fast fix meals book includes 220 recipes that go from stove to table in 30 minutes or less.
Kids in the kitchen is an 80 page cook book with recipes that are kid friendly. We made these cute rice krispy monkey pops from kids in the kitchen and my boys absolutely loved them!
The Gooseberry Patch website also offers a recipe of the week, e-letter, message books and more.
Cons: I’m having a hard time finding any cons with these cookbooks. They are definitely ones that I will keep in my home for years to come! I actually have my eye on a few more of their cookbooks that I would love to have.
The Bottom Line: Practical, fast and easy recipes!
