Pace Salsa Review

Submitted by admin on July 3, 2009 – 1:11 pm3 Comments

Pace is a common name when it comes to salsa. And with good reason. Pace has been around for more than 60 years.

Here’s a little more about the company:
Pace’s passion for making salsa goes back more than 60 years, when the original picante sauce was introduced. There’s a long and storied tradition of uncompromising care and craftsmanship that has gone into this special blend of hand- selected tomatoes, onions, fresh jalapeños – and it all started with an entrepreneur named David Pace.

Pace has recently come out with a new specialty line, which includes Pineapple Mango Chipotle, Black Bean & Roasted Corn, Triple Pepper Salsa, Tequila Lime Salsa, Salsa Verde, Pico De Gallo, and Mexican Four Cheese Salsa Con Queso.
We received the Salsa Verde and Pico De Gallo to try out.

A medium salsa, this was a big hit in our home. It is sweet with just the right amount of zing to it. It reminds me of a sweet salsa that we love used in a local Mexican restaurant. We mostly used this with dipping chips.  The consistency is quite runny, but I actually like this quite a bit.  I think if it were a chunky salsa, it would take away from the sweet flavor.  I’m excited to find some recipes to cook with this salsa.

The Pico De Gallo has fresh onions and jalepeno’s, with a hint of cilantro.  The ingredients taste fresh, and the chunky texture is great.  It does taste spicier than a medium salsa, and I wish it had more of a cilantro taste.

I think Pace’s new line is definitely delicious and picked up the Pineapple Mango Chipotle Salsa last time I was at the store. It is another delicious sweet salsa and I think it would be great paired with shrimp tacos. My husband has been asking about the four cheese salsa so I am excited to pick that up next time I am out!
