Creative Play
activity bus 2Toys are a great way for children to learn and grow. They expand imaginations and provoke creative play. Chandler and Rowan are starting to play together, and it’s fun for me to see. I was introduced to a toy website last month called ebeanstalk. It is dedicated to  good, safe educational toys and learning baby gifts.  We recently received this adorable Activity Bus from Plan Toys, who makes eco-friendly wooden toys.

Pros: This Activity Bus is made of a heavy wood. It’s nice to see a toy actually well made like this one. It seems that materials are getting cheaper, and toys are getting more flimsy, but this is a nice, solid toy. It has provided hours of play time for my boys, and I’ve seen Chan get really creative which I love. The bus can be used to drive along the floor, or can be opened up into a classroom. The bus comes with two little people, desks, a chalk board, and books. It brings a unique twist to a school bus toy. I like that the toy is made from an organic recycled wood, so it’s not only cute, it’s environmentally friendly!bus

Cons:  The hinge on the bus, (where it swings open) broke off the second day that we had it. I think Chandler just got too excited and couldn’t get it open. I struggled to get it back together, and finally used some glue. I don’t know if this was just our toy, or if this bus has a tendency to do this. Chan was pretty distraught about the whole thing, and was more than relieved when I got it fixed. We also have to watch this around Rowan. He really likes to play with it, but the recommended age is 3 and up because of the small people and desks. If we put all of the people up, the bus is a great toy for him to play with as well.

The Bottom Line: A fun, creative wooden toy that is environmentally friendly, but had a faulty hinge.
