National Play-Doh Day
September 16th is National Play-Doh Day. We have plenty of Play-doh in our home, so we will definitely be celebrating. I got Chandler a bunch of Play-Doh the Christmas after he turned 2. He was a little young for it at the time, but quickly grew into it. I love that it inspires his creativity and it’s an activity that engages him for a good amount of time. Plus, Play-Doh is fairly inexpensive which is incredibly nice!
Burger Builder
Play-Doh has a brand new play set coming out in September; The Burger Builder.
We were given a sneak peek of the new set. As soon as it came in the mail, Chan was anxious to open the box.
He kept saying, “I’ll make a hamburger mommy? A big hamburger?”
The set was easy to put together and comes with:
- 5 – 2 ounce cans of Play-Doh
- Hamburger maker with interchangable molds
- Twist a chip special tool
- Plate, plastic knife and roller
Chandler is able to operate the hamburger maker, change out the molds and make hamburgers by himself. He does need some help with the chip mold, but I imagine older kids would be able to do it by themselves. The recommended age range is 3-8 years old.
Starting next week, Chan is part of a preschool group made up of him and 4 other kids who live in our neighborhood. I will be teaching once every 5 weeks. I know I will definitely be incorporating play-doh into our arts and crafts as it helps them develop and grow. Hasbro has some great lesson plans that I am definitely going to be incorporating as well.
