I am in desperate need of a new washer and dryer. Our washer shakes uncontrollably no matter how many clothes are in it. That’s why we decided to accessorize with the two tow straps. 
We also fixed the pump in it last year and it’s recently started leaking again. Thus you notice the rag trying to absorb some of the leakage.
Our dryer works but takes a long time to dry clothes, costing us more in electrical bills. I recently entered a contest to win a new Samsung washer and dryer. Here’s the washer, isn’t it pretty?

Hey, that looks just like my washer and dryer! Minus the tow straps of course. Ours are still working, although we have had the repair man out twice in the past 10 years of so to fix something with the transmission…
