Kudos to you for standing up for what is right. That is why I don’t enter “popularity” contests. Shame on the companies involved for being dodgy in the whole matter.
Something similar happened to me a couple of years ago with a local radio contest to win a trip to Florida and a gas card. To enter, people were to go around to different places of business and get a card stamped. Then, on a specific night, they were to go to this specific business and be present to win. There were a total of 14 winners and more than half of them were not present. I was upset because it clearly stated in the rules that you had to be present to win. The weather was crappy and I took the night off work to make sure I was there.
I went straight home and called the radio company as well as the business involved. Come to find out, they decided to change the rules halfway through and didn’t make it known. I did end up getting a gas card, but a bitter taste was left in my mouth and I let everyone I know be aware of the unethical game that was played.

I commend you for addressing the REAL issues of honesty and integrity. Our society is full of liars and cheater, who will win if rules and laws and decency are not upheld. One way we can all do our part is to 1 be honest and 2 confront those who are not honest. If we do those things perhaps we can change the path our society is taking.
I hope things work out for you, this must be very frustrating.

I am so sorry for all you went through trying to win honestly and in the end they chose a winner that cheated. Not a good example to set our children. Whatever happened to cheaters never win? I retweeted this for you and will do again now. I checked the winner and went to the post and saw no comments but I might have been looking in the wrong place.
