Campus Quilt Company – Review & Giveaway (closed)
Making Memories a Keepsake
Hubby and I have a long history together. We started liking each other at the fresh age of 15 and were married when we were 21. We have a lot of fun memories together and a lot of great pictures. Campus Quilt Company helped us capture those memories and make it into a fabulous keepsake. Campus Quilt Company specializes in t-shirt quilts, photo quilts and other memory keepsake quilts.
About Campus Quilt Company
If you are like most active people, you have a pile of treasured old t-shirts, jeans, ties, or baby clothes that you just can’t bear to throw away. Campus Quilt Company can help. Born in 2000 as the thesis project for my MBA, Campus Quilt became a company dedicated to turning your old clothes into lasting memories in the form of fun and functional quilts and bedspreads. -Leigh Lowe, owner
Pros: I love the whole concept of turning memories from t-shirts or photos into a quilt. The process is very simple and quick. Plus, you really get a nice quality quilt in the end. My experience was extremely smooth and pleasant. To order, you simply add your quilt to your cart. After a few days, you receive a kit in the mail with a pre-paid envelope. You put your shirts or items in the kit and drop off at any UPS location. Because I used photos for my quilt, I was able to e-mail all of my pictures to the company. Communication was great, and I always heard back from the representative quickly. In other words, they have great customer service.
You don’t have to pay for your entire quilt up front either. You pay a $100 deposit and pay the rest of the balance once you receive your quilt. From the time I e-mailed in my photos to the time I received my quilt, it was just over 2 weeks. That’s quick for a custom made quilt. I received updates periodically to let me know what was going on with my order, so that was nice.
The quilt washed up nicely for me. I did take care to wash it on a delicate cycle, as it is a keepsake.
Options
There are so many options available when it comes to size. You can choose from a 9 square quilt which is a lap quilt size, up to a 49 square quilt, which is a King size. Each square is 15″ x 15″. My quilt pictured is a 20 square couch quilt, wtih embroidery in the first and last square.
There are also special services available for your quilt including:
- sashing
- flannel backing
- photos
- embroidery
- wall hanging sleeves
Cons: I love it when I review a product and can’t find Cons. I definitely feel this way with Campus Quilt Company. The only thing that might be a Con for some is prices. The prices are actually very good for a custom quilt, which start at $129.00, but if you start adding additional photos, sashing and so forth, it can add up quickly. Small price to pay for an awesome keepsake.
If you are thinking about ordering for Christmas, make sure to get your order in by December 1st!
Price: Starting at $129.00 for a 9 square quilt.
