Furreal Friends, Lulu my Cuddlin Kitty Review

Submitted by admin on November 20, 2009 – 12:59 am4 Comments

Lulu the Kitty
I know my boys would love to have a pet. I love animals but hubby and I have agreed that we are not ready to have a pet at this point. So it’s fun to see Hasbro coming out with more Furreal Friends. It’s amazing how lifelike they are and how the boys get so excited to interact. Last year, Santa brought Chandler Squawkers McCaw, the talking parrot. Chan loved it so I instantly knew the kitty would be a hit as well.lulu-my-cuddlin-kittyPros: Lulu looks and acts a lot like a real cat. She purrs when you pet her, licks her paw, meows, blinks, and even lays back so that you can rub her tummy. Her fur is nice and soft and her movements seem real. Although the target for Lulu is girls, Chan loves this little kitty. She’s fairly lightweight and easy to tote around. I’ve had others make the comment that she looks so real that they thought we bought a cat. Funny, huh? Overall, she’s adorable and was an instant hit in our home. Watch the video below to see Lulu in action.

Cons: I wish that Lulu were a bit more interactive. It would be fun to see her move her head and to be able to have her do tricks. Accessories would be a fun improvement as well. She does come with a comb, but a ball would be fun as well.
Lulu also sucks the batteries if you forget to turn her off. Her batteries were dead in a few days. We put some new batteries in and have been remembering to turn her off so they are lasting much longer.
The batteries are also a pain to get in and out. You replace them by pulling open a velcro opening on her tummy. The opening seems like it needs to be bigger. I wrestled to get the batteries out and new ones in.

Great review. I wanted to add, these make great presents for the elderly too. One year we purchase some for an assisted living nursing home patients. You should have seen the look in their eyes. Any work done to get these kitties to the patient were so worth seeing the life come back into their eyes.

That’s a cute idea. I used to LOVE dogs when I was younger and always thought I’d have pets. Now that I have kids I have absolutely no desire to have a dog, cat, or anything extra I have to take care of! Two crazy boys are enough for me right now so I like this idea. My sisters little girl got a puppy sort of like this last year for Christmas and Jordan was in love with it so I’m sure he’d like a kitty too.
