Cleaner Carpetshoover-windtunell-rewind-vacuum
After we moved into our house last year, I knew it would be a challenge to keep the carpets clean with the light carpet we have in our house.  My two little tornados sure are cute, but they are great at making messes.  Our current vacuum we’d been using had been having problems for quite some time.  It was a bag vacuumed that had endless problems with the belt.  I’ve been wanting to try a good bagless vacuum for a while, and was excited to try out the Hoover Windtunnel Rewind T-Series Bagless Upright.

About the Vacuum from Hoover’s Website:
The WindTunnel T-Series™ vacuums feature Hoover® patented WindTunnel Technology™ with air passages that trap dirt and channel it into the dirt cup, significantly minimizing blowback or scattering back onto the floor. While each model is lightweight, each offers full Hoover® power for a deep-down clean and no loss of suction.*

Pros: I’ve been using the Rewind for just over 2 weeks, and from what I’ve seen so far, I am definitely impressed. I’ve always owned a bagged vacuum and really like the benefits of having a bagless vacuum which include:

  • Not having to buy a new bag every month or so
  • Easy Cleanup
  • You can actually see what the vacuum is picking up

This vacuum comes with four different accessories and an 8 foot hose, which make it easy to get to those hard to reach places. The cord is 27 feet and there is NO winding! I love this feature. You simply depress a lever on the side of the vacuum and the cord detracts by itself.retrieveImage-3.aspx.gif
The filtration is awesome, and it is rinsable so you never have to buy a new filter. I noticed that it is recommended that you rinse the filter about once a month and then let it dry out overnight. Seems simple enough.
I like that you can see the windtunnel action working as well as the belt in the bottom of the vacuum. Our last vacuum cleaner had problems with the belt popping off and I didn’t figure out the problem for a while. I know if I were to have problems with the belt, I would be able to see it right away, which makes troubleshooting a bit easier.
I find that it picks up a lot of dust in the carpet that I didn’t realize was hiding there. That lets me know it is really doing it’s job.
It’s easy to hold on to and push, and I love the sleek design and color. And at only $129.99, it’s a great choice without breaking your pocket book. Watch the video below to see the features in action.

Cons: At 16.5 lbs, the rewind is about 2 lbs heavier than my old vacuum. We live on 3 levels, so sometimes it’s hard to haul it up and down so many stairs.
While I love the vacuum right now, I can’t give an opinion on the long term effects as I haven’t had it that long. I’m thinking it would be a good idea to update this post in about 6 months, just to give you and idea of how it is holding up.
While the retractable cord is an awesome feature, one of my favorites, I would suggest that you keep it up out of the reach of little hands. My boys thought it was a toy the first day we got it and I could see it somehow getting broken if little hands are allowed to play with it. Plus, it’s just not for kids! So I guess this was more of a suggestion than and actual Con. I love having the retractable cord versus having to wind a cord myself.
