We don’t often have cartoon network on at our house, so I wasn’t familiar with Johnny Test. After receiving Johnny X and Super Pooch, we put it in to watch. My 4 year old was immediately engrossed.
About The DVD
Follow the adventures of this fearless 11-year old boy, his genetically engineered super talking dog Dukey, and his 13-year old super genius scientist twin sisters, Susan and Mary, who use Johnny as their guinea pig for their out-of-this-world scientific experiments. When trouble is brewing in Porkbelly, Johnny & Dukey suit up in their superhero gear and take to the skies! With a little help from Susan and Mary, Johnny X and Super Pooch are on the case!
Our Take
Although Chandler loved the cartoon, I felt it it was a bit old for him. I think it is better suited for kids a few years older who can understand the plot. He loved Johnny Test’s dog and the cartoon kept him captivated.
Coming from a different view, I thought the cartoon was a bit odd at points. There is definitely a creative mind behind this series, but cartoons sure aren’t the same as they were when I was younger.

We just watched this for the first time recently too. And I have to agree with you, while my little one liked it, I think it’s better for older kids too.

The dog reminds me a little of Droopy, and another cartoon dog, but I can’t place which one.

My son LOVES Johnny Test, it is not a bad cartoon to watch like some of them are. It is about a mischivious boy and his dog who talks. He also has twin sisters who are genius’ and invent different things that Johnny wants to use for his advantage:)
