Gingerbread Houses
I don’t ever remember making Gingerbread houses when I was younger. I’ve always thought it would be fun but it seemed like a lot of preparation and time to put one together. I saw some kits at Walmart so I decided to pick one up, as I thought the boys would like it.
We finally got to putting it together the other night. The instructions were fairly easy but some of the gingerbread was broken when I got it out of the kit. I also got the candy out and one of the packets was open and it spilled everywhere. My boys scrambled as fast as they could to eat the candy even though I was telling them no. Imagine that.

They did have fun though, and worked together to make their best house. It didn’t look like the one on the box and fell apart a bit later, but it wasn’t a total disaster for our first gingerbread house. (Oh, and WHY does the frosting taste SO terrible?)

i have done gingerbread houses for the past couple years with my kids and they have such a blast. After Xmas they go on sale real cheap and its a fun thing to keep kids busy while they are off school on vacation

That’s too funny! That sounds alot like our experience this year with our 1st gingerbread house! I didn’t make them growing up either, but decided since my little girl is 3 that she was big enough to try it this year. You could tell that a 3 year old & her mom made it, but she was SO PROUD! We’ll do it every year from now on.

we are getting together with my best friend on Wed to do these with the kids. We do it every yr along with holiday cookies or cupcakes. Looks like your boys had so much fun. more eating the candy but fun. LOL

they look like the same ages as my boys.
