Project of the Month Club
Winter is here in full force. The snow just seems to keep coming and it’s been abnormally cold. This means I have to find ways to entertain my boys. Rowan still naps, but it’s hard to keep Chandler active and busy the entire day as he doesn’t nap anymore. I love to be able to do crafts with Chan because I know it is important developmentally and it encourages his creativity. Sometimes I am at a loss of what to do. Project of the Month Club is a service that specializes in encouraging that artistic creativity by shipping projects and crafts for kids straight to your home for a monthly cost.
Pros: One of the projects that we received for Chandler to do was the step stool. Here are the pieces that we had to work with.
The instructions were very easy to follow and straight forward. Chandler helped me pound in the nails and was impressed as we made progress.
Once the step stool was assembled, Chandler went to work putting his touch on it. He loves to paint and thought it was so fun to paint something other than paper. I think he did a pretty great job for a 4 year old. The stool is very sturdy and we are now using it in the bathroom as a step stool for Chan to wash his hands. I love that we were able to spend time together putting it together, that he had fun painting it, and now he is experiencing more independence as he can wash his hands by himself using his step stool.

There are different plans available, and plans by age group. For example, you can choose to get projects monthly, quarterly, 4 in a row, or bi-monthly. You can also place a one time order if you are interested in that as well. The options that they give you are great!
Cons: I really like the concept behind this, but the price may be a bit high for families on a tight budget. Projects are as low as $19 with a high quantity plan, or as high as $33 for a plan with not as many projects. It appears that you pay for your entire membership upfront which I think could also be a turn off. I’d love to get the 1 project a month for Chan, but the cost is $325 and that’s a lot to come up with at one time.
Discount Code I mentioned that a con for some may be the price. To help alleviate the cost use code BABESANDKIDS at checkout to get 10% off your order. It would make a great holiday gift for any child.
Price: Price Varies. See membership chart here.

What an awesome idea! I agree, it is expensive, especially when you could get your own art supplies for pretty cheap. But, that step stool was a great idea that I doubt many moms would have come up with.

Great idea! If I had more spending money in our budget I would add this to the list. I am looking forward to doing projects with my kids. Right now they are a little too young (my oldest is only 2)… so for now we will just get out newsprint and color.

Wow what a great idea! I would love to have crafts shipped to my home for Jordan and I to do together. I feel like I’m in the same boat with you not knowing how to keep an active 3 year old busy all day when it’s freezing outside.

Sounds cool, but yeah, a little spendy. We buy random craft supplies at walmart and keep them around for days when we’re going insane! I hope Sophie keeps napping for a looonnng time, and I wish Belle still did sometimes.
