Build a Bear’s Huggable Heroes

Submitted by admin on January 28, 2010 – 6:41 pm3 Comments

Young Leaders
I know some pretty amazing young people. I have amazing nieces and as well as nephew, and know that they make an impact with those around them. I also work with children at church and see what great role models they are for everyone, even adults. Build a Bear recognizes that there are young leaders among us, trying to make a difference in their community and around the world. The Huggable Heroes Program highlights those young people trying to make a difference, and now is the time to nominate someone you know, or if you are a young person, nominate yourself!

About Huggable Heroes
This year, ten Huggable Heroes, between the ages of eight and 18, from the United States and Canada, will be selected and honored for their good deeds. Each of the ten Huggable Heroes will receive a prize worth $10,000 ($7,500 in the form of an educational scholarship and $2,500 from the Build-A-Bear Workshop Foundation to be donated to the 501(c)(3) charity of each Huggable Hero’s choice). In addition, the Huggable Heroes will win a trip for themselves and a parent to St. Louis, the home of Build-A-Bear Workshop World Bearquarters. During their visit, the 2010 Huggable Heroes will meet each other, be honored for their good deeds and participate in a photo shoot for the 2011 Build-A-Bear Workshop Huggable Heroes Calendar.

You can enter through February 26th, by clicking here or picking up an entry form at any Build a Bear Workshop.

That’s awesome that they’re donating so much to 10 people! What a great idea.

What a great idea! I’ve never been to build-a-bear, but the shop in the mall looks adorable :)
