Childproofing Help!
After years of little boys getting into things, I’d thought I’d started to have a child proof house. Just when I begin to think that it’s child proof, something happens or someone gets hurt and it’s back to the drawing board.
Chan is in a twin sized bed right now. His bedding set doesn’t have a bed skirt, so the corner of the bedframe looks like the picture below. The edge is pretty sharp but it doesn’t really stick out so I hadn’t thought about proofing it before.
The other night, we got the boys out of the tub and I proceeded to get them dressed. When Chan was only in his underwear, he started jumping around. He slipped and fell, his little bum making contact with the corner of the bedframe. He immediately started crying and I noticed a huge tear in his underwear and a huge gash on his bottom. Nothing that some TLC, medicine, and a couple Elmo band aids couldn’t fix, but it is a nice sized cut a bled quite a bit. Now here’s the part where I need help. How do I go about child proofing it so that someone doesn’t get hurt on it again? It might never happen again, but I don’t want to chance it. Is there some sort of fix that I don’t know about? Any ideas?
