All Natural Cookie Dough from Ice Box Bakery – Review & Giveaway
Cookies….Yum.
If you spent any given amount of time at our house, you would quickly see that we are a cookie and cookie dough family. It’s our go to treat because it’s delicious, easy to make, and everyone loves it. I will often keep pre-made cookie dough on hand for a quick warm treat for the entire family. Ice Box Bakery brings that warm homemade taste into your home, but is an all natural cookie dough.
About Ice Box Bakery
Here is a bit about Ice Box Bakery from their website:
Founded in Boulder in 2007, Ice Box Bakery all-natural cookie dough is made from scratch in small batches, quick-wrapped to ensure “fresh from the mixing bowl” flavor, and sold ready to slice and bake. Using only premium, all-natural ingredients, including real creamery butter, pure cane sugar, and pure vanilla, Ice Box Bakery cookie dough is available in seven delicious, old fashioned flavors and sold in the refrigerated section at Whole Foods Market and other fine natural and specialty food stores throughout the U.S.
Pros: The first obvious pro about this product is the convenience. Simply pick it up at your local Whole Foods Market, preheat your oven, slice your dough using the slicing guide on the outside, and cook! Baking cookies simply couldn’t be simpler.

I mentioned above that the dough has a slicing guide on the outside. I found this particularly handy and a nice feature on the packaging. The dough comes in 7 different flavors, including a gluten free chocolate chip.
The three that we were able to sample included: Deluxe Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, and Tart Cherry Pie. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t really like Oatmeal cookies. For some reason, I always associated oatmeal with breakfast, and it didn’t seem right in a food that was supposed to be a treat. However, after trying out the three varieties that we got, I have to say I’m now a fan of the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip. They were soft, chewy, had the right amount of oatmeal and chocolate chips, and were rich. I can definitely tell that they are made with real butter.

One other thing that I wanted to touch on was the ingredients. After looking over the ingredients, I didn’t see anything weird that I didn’t recognize and I thought that was nice. So many times we look at labels on products and don’t even recognize what half of them are. And then we consume them anyways! If you are interested at looking at the ingredients list, you can find them at Ice Box Bakery.
Cons: It seems as if this dough is made with eggs, but I wasn’t sure if it was a dried egg product or real eggs that were used. We also like to eat the dough, and most of the other premade cookie dough we buy is made with a dried egg. I know some consumers are concerned with eating raw dough because of raw eggs, so I’d love to know if this is a concern with Ice Box Bakery. I have to be honest though, raw eggs aren’t going to deter the cookie dough lovers in our home. Even when we make it from scratch, you will see everyone getting spoons to eat the dough raw.
The deluxe chocolate chip cookie dough that we got also had a bit of a funny aftertaste. I’m not sure what it was. We used it in the recommended time, and the other two types of dough that we got were fine.
The last thing that was a bit of a con for me – I wasn’t able to find the cookie dough in the whole food stores by me. I checked two that said they carried it and wasn’t able to find it. I was a bit disappointed here because it’s really good, and something that I would definitely buy again. However if I can’t find it, I can’t buy it
