Slow Cooker Blackberry Cobbler
Have you ever tried cooking desserts in your slow cooker? Crock pot desserts can be really delicious and easy as well. This week in our bountiful baskets food co-op, I got 16 containers of blackberries. Yum! We’ve been eating them, will freeze some for smoothies later on, and I made this cobbler too. This cobbler took about 3 hours from start to finish and was a great after dinner dessert. You don’t have to just use blackberries in this recipe, but can use any type of fruit that is in season. And since summer is coming, that means a lot of different fruits will be on!
- 2 pints fresh blackberries (Or 1 bag frozen blackberries)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- ⅔ cup sugar (or non calorie sweetner, I used Splenda)
- 1¾ cups dry cake mix of your choice
- 1 egg
- 3 Tbsp evaporated milk
- Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray
- Mix blackberries, lemon juice and sugar in slow cooker and cook on high for 30 minutes.
- Mix cake mix, egg, and milk in bowl and add to blackberries in slow cooker
- Cover and cook on low for 2-5 hours or until a toothpick inserted into center of topping Serve with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream
Can this be cooked in an oblong slow cooker/crock pot? I love a good blackberry cobber. I want to try it soon.

Great recipe! Everybody loved it. Thank you!!
What size is the slow cooker??? I have 2 that are small and one 6qt. Could I make it in a small cooker,so I don’t have so much to eat ? I’m a widow and need smaller portions.
I use a smaller size for this recipe!
Can this receipe be doubled? Need so serve 8 to 10
