Comfort food and Fall go hand in hand. There’s something to be said about a warm bowl of soup or a warm dessert when you know it’s cold outside. Just the other day, I headed out to Walmart to get some ingredients for a Caramel Apple Pudding recipe. Originally, it was made with Pears here, but since I have a ton of apples my mom gave me from her apple tree, I thought it would only be appropriate to add apples to it instead. Another part of my quest at Walmart was to find some sort of Clear American sparkling water that would compliment my recipe. I found this Fuji Apple Pear flavor that I knew would compliment the recipe perfectly.  I hadn’t tried this flavor before and it was really good.

I also picked up a few of my other favorite flavors while there to sip while I was baking. Overall, my shopping experience was easy and fast. I found what I was looking for and picked up a few other groceries while there. This Caramel Apple Pudding Recipe that I’m about to share…..incredible. I make a lot of recipes that I think are good, I’d probably make them again, but I’m not raving over them. I’m raving over this one.  Normally I try to give my recipes healthy alternatives, but I’m glad I didn’t on this one.  Butter, sugar and all, it’s so indulgent. It’s incredible right out of the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Caramel Apple Pudding Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Pinch ground cloves
  • ½ cup milk
  • 4 medium apples, peeled and cut into ½-inch cubes
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¾ cup Clear American Fuji Pear Sparkling Water (heated to boiling)
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients; beat in milk until smooth. Stir in pears and pecans. Spoon into an ungreased 2-qt. baking dish.
  2. In another bowl, combine the brown sugar, butter and sparkling water; pour over batter. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 45-50 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
