Is Soda Bad For You? (Infographic)

Although I’m a bit of a health and fitness nut, I am tempted by certain foods and drink.  My drink of choice when I indulge is soda.  There was a point a year or so ago when I was working two graves a week.  I wasn’t getting enough sleep and I had to stay awake all night long at work.  After one particularly hard night, I looked back at the amount of soda that I consumed and it was close to 100 ounces.  I was mortified to say the least.  I tried to rationalize it in the back of my head saying I needed the caffeine and that it was diet soda, when in reality I knew it was bad for me.  I also knew that I just needed to be getting more sleep.  Since then, I only drink soda maybe once or twice a week and am trying to limit it even more than that.  Since I do really like the taste of it, I need to make it so it’s a sweet treat.  I found this infographic from diet blog and found it to be incredibly interesting and enlightening.  So the next time you go to crack open a soda, think of this infographic and reach for a glass of water instead.

    I just created an infographics board on pinterest so this is perfect! I’m not a big soda drinker so you’d think it would be easier to eliminate it but it’s not. I’m pinning this now to remind me, there is zero benefits from drinking this icky brown sugar stuff.

    I’m not a big soda drinker, but was amazed by how many teaspoon of sugar is in 1 20 oz coke. Divide the grams of sugar on the lable by 4 & that’s how many teaspoons there are! It’s a lot!

    I quit drinking soda last year…while I am still overweight, I actually look less bloated – and feel a hell of a lot better!

    This is really scary! I am a HUGE Soda drinker and up until a few years ago that’s all I drank. I have tried these past few years to make healthier food choices and this includes drinking much more water than I used too. I would love to be able to give up soda all together, hopefully someday.
