Breakfast on the Go
Each morning, it’s a scramble to get breakfast and be out the door. 3 days a week, I’ve got to get my 4 year old up at 6 am and we have to be out the door by 6:30. We both need to get dressed and ready and have breakfast in that short time. I do get up a bit earlier than 6, but I depend heavily on breakfast items that aren’t going to take a long to prepare or that I can grab and run out the door with. Being that I am training for a marathon and also trying to lose weight, I limit my breakfast to 400 calories. Since being introduced to belVita breakfast biscuits, I’ve incorporated them into my daily ritual.

My breakfast usually consists of a Slim-fast shake, 2 belVita breakfast biscuits, and a piece of fresh fruit. These are all items that I can grab quickly. My little guy also likes to have some fruit and biscuits as well.

About belVita Breakfast Biscuits
You might be wondering what belVita breakfast biscuits are. You might already know and have them stocked in your pantry. belVita are a baked biscuit (that really tastes more like a cookie 🙂 ) and contain 18g of whole grain per serving and are a nutritious sustained energy. Each belVita pack contains 4 biscuits at around 230 calories per serving. Over the past few weeks, we’ve gone through 4 boxes of belVita in a 5 days of belVita breakfast challenge. We also like them because:

  • Portable and easy to grab and go
  • They come in 3 flavors: Golden Oat, Blueberry & Apple Cinnamon
  • Made with whole grain
  • Contain good fats like polyunsatured and monounsaturated
  • 3 grams of fiber per serving

I definitely feel that belVita is a wonderful addition to breakfast in the morning. I also like to keep them in hand in the car or my purse for snacks. It’s a snack I feel good about giving to my kids and that I enjoy eating. The crunch and taste are really great and the Apple Cinnamon is my favorite.  The only complaint that I do have is that they break easily, and we’ve opened several packs that have broken biscuits in them.
