#MaytagMoms
Last week, I was having a bit of a rough day. I had been called into work the night before and was running on not too much sleep. After the boys had lunch, we all snuggled up in my bed to watch a movie. I was tired and was looking forward to watching a movie and maybe dozing off a little bit. As I lay there, my phone made the ringing sound it does when I have new e-mail. I glanced over to my phone to see the words “Congratulations and Maytag.”I immediately knew that that meant, and opened the e-mail, eager to read more. I then began jumping screaming and running wildly around my house. Jumping and screaming turned into dancing and singing. My boys were incredibly amused, started giggling and then began singing and dancing with me. At one point my 6 year old stopped and looked at me. Our conversation went like this:

“Mom, why do you feel so crazy right now?”

“I’m a MAYTAG MOM!!!”

“What does that mean?”

“We are getting a new refrigerator, microwave, stove & dishwasher.”

“Oh. I thought you were going to say something exciting.”

My sweet little boy, I couldn’t help laugh at his reaction since I would have said the same thing as a child. Now, being married with children, I honestly can’t imagine anything more exciting. We moved into our home 3 1/2 years ago. The appliances that were here were low budget ones that were put in when the home was built. The refrigerator wasn’t even a low budget newer one, but something that jumped out of the early 90’s. Hubby and I agreed that we would use them for the time being and replace them as we were able to. We’ve honestly been shopping around for refrigerators and I had a few in mind. Thanks to Maytag, we will be getting all new Maytag appliances in our kitchen. All of them with the exception of my dishwasher are in dire need of replacing. I’m going to give you a glimpse of how awesome my current appliances are….you might sense some sarcasm.

Refrigerator –  Our refrigerator is extra special. If you want cold milk, keep it towards the front. If you want icy milk, just move it to the back. No need to put it in the freezer. It’s also so powerful that the lightbulbs cannot withstand it. They need to be replaced often. And the best part about my fridge? Broken shelving is the best way to store food. That’s why I’m glad that I have a few broken shelves in my refrigerator and freezer.

Microwave – Our microwave has taught me patience. I am a better person because if I want something cooked for 2 minutes, it takes 4. I also get to experience all sorts of heats. One side of my meal will be burning hot while the other side is still ice cold. Fun, right? The turn table – broken. But who needs a working turn table?

Oven/Range – The previous owners did NOT take care of the top so my range is graced with beautiful stains that I’ve never been able to get rid of. It also has superhuman speed in cooking. If you want to bake cookies, it only takes 5-6 minutes. If you want hockey pucks, use the normal baking time of 10 minutes. It’s also a fun game to guess how the stuff in my oven is doing as well since the light doesn’t work.

Dishwasher – The “newer” one we had died. It sat for a few months and then we replaced it with another one which works, but wasn’t my first choice.

Why on earth would I want my appliances replaced, when I have such amazing, state of the art ones now? No, really though, I am absolutely thrilled to be getting a nice kitchen makeover with the most amazing appliances. It will include:

  • Ice20 French Door Refrigerator with Easy Access Refrigerator
  • Jetclean Plus Dishwasher with Fully Intergrated Control
  • Over-the-Range Microwave with Stainless Steel Interior
  • 6.2 cu. Ft. Capacity Electric Range with Triple-Choice and Speed Heat Elements
#MaytagMoms Maytag Appliances

Quite honestly, this is my first experience with Maytag. I’ve owned just about every other brand of appliances in the past, but from everything I’ve been reading, I’m thinking it’s going to be a win. In looking at refrigerators, there were 3 that I really liked and Maytag was one of those. Now I really get to see for myself what type of appliances they are. My new kitchen will be coming at the end of the month. Over the course of the next 4 months I will be blogging, vlogging, cooking, baking, and really giving you an in depth look at these appliances. Follow me, along with other Maytag Moms on twitter with the #MaytagMoms hashtag.

I wrote this post participating in an Maytag Moms Dependable Kitchen Ambassador program by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Maytag. I was provided with a Maytag kitchen appliances set, including a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and range to facilitate my post.

I am excited for you! Your fridge rivals mine. Mine is about 20 years old, looks like that one but has a water/ice dispensor on the outside. The ice machine leaks. It has flooded more than once. A lot of the trim in my dining room is molded now, and the pergo has had a ton of water leak up under it, so it bubbles… GRRR!
You know you have hit a milestone as a mom when you get hysterically happy over new appliances. LoL THAT’s what I call hitting thed jackpot! what a prize!!!!

Excuse me while I wipe the drool from my mouth. Those appliances are GORGEOUS. I am particularly jealous at the moment because our appliances in Germany are SO SMALL. Like, the stove doesn’t fit a proper cookie sheet. The fridge is the size of a dorm fridge (and, in fact, we’ll have a second “American fridge” in the kitchen!) Sigh. I can’t wait to see these beauties in your home!

You can’t fit a cookie sheet in your oven? I would be annoyed too. How do they keep food fresh if they have such tiny fridges, or do they even eat, lol?
I’m really excited. I’ve never had a new fridge, microwave or stove before. 🙂
