Wordless Wednesday – Denver Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon

This last weekend, my brother and I went to Denver to run the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon.  I was so nervous as my first marathon didn’t go as well as I would have liked.  I felt better prepared and trained for this one and hoped that it would carry me through.  I finished with a time of 4:35:17!  I really felt so much better this marathon and didn’t hurt too much until mile 24.  I kept a pretty consistent pace and my average was a 10:30 mile.  Best of all, I knocked 37 minutes off my last marathon time.  It was an amazing experience and I loved being there with my brother.  He was speedy and finished in 3:45.  It’s an amazing feeling to know that I can run 26 miles.  It will definitely not be my last marathon. 🙂

26 miles down, .2 more to go!

Thank you! Would you believe that 2 1/2 years ago I’d never run more than 2 miles? If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s mind over body. You can do anything you set your mind to.
