Can Your Dishwasher Do That?
Living in 7 different homes and apartments over the last 8 1/2 years has given me the opportunity to get a feel for different appliances and their strengths and weaknesses. One appliance that I’ve never been impressed with is our dishwasher. I can honestly say since my Maytag Dishwasher showed up, cleanup has been so much more convenient and more through than anything I’ve ever experienced. There have been many times with other dishwashers where I’ve opted to wash things by hand, or have put dishes in the dishwasher when they are basically already clean. About 8 months ago, before I got my Maytag appliances, we started using soft water. It helped to a point, but I still noticed spots and crusted on food that my current dishwasher was leaving behind. Because I had never experienced a dishwasher that had actually done a great job, I was a bit skeptical when we got the Maytag® Jetclean® Plus Dishwasher with Fully Integrated Controls. I’ve challenged the dishwasher with caked on oatmeal, rice, and other dried food. I’ve purposefully let cereal bowls sit all day before putting them into my dishwasher, just to see how it would perform. It continues to perform day after day. I’ve also overloaded it on occasion to see how it would deal, and I’ve not been disappointed.
I love having the baskets on the sides for utensils and the sleek stainless steel look. A lot of people told me that I wouldn’t like stainless steel with little kids, but it honestly hasn’t been bad. I just make sure to wipe them down every few days. I love the sleek feel that it adds to my kitchen.
My Maytag has touch buttons on the top of the dishwasher that disappear when the dishwasher is closed. That way, little hands aren’t interfering with knobs and buttons while the dishwasher is going. My favorite cycle to use is the jet clean plus steam cycle.
It’s the cycle I use when I have a lot of tough to clean dishes which actually happens more often than not. The Jetclean Plus Steam cycle utilizes high-pressure spray jets and increased temperatures to power through stuck-on food while reducing spots on glassware. It leaves my glassware virtually spotless which I love.
We run our dishwashwer 1-2 times a day depending on how ambitious I am with cooking and baking that day.
The dishwasher is so quiet that I don’t realize that it’s running. I had a friend over one day and asked her if she could hear anything while we were in the kitchen. I told her my dishwasher was running and I don’t think she believed me.
Another very convenient appliance is our microwave which we use countless times a day. I love the quick touch options for popcorn, kids snacks and so on. It helps my kids to be more independent.
I also am in love with the wide glide rectangular tray inside. Instead of going in a circle like most microwaves, my Maytag microwave goes in a rectangular pattern. The result is food that is more evenly cooked without scorching hot and cold areas within your food that you are heating. It can accomodate cookware up to 10″x15″ which would actually allow you to cook an entire casserole in the microwave.
I can honestly say that I love my Maytag appliances and that I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. Right now, we are in a starter home with plans to move in 1-2 years. My hubby doesn’t want to haul the appliances out and thinks it would help with the value of our home to sell with the home in a couple of years. I threw a pretty big fit about it, saying that I refuse to ever give up my Maytag appliances. I made him promise that he would buy me the exact same set of appliances if we were to move in a couple of years, and he definitely agreed. It’s nice to see how much he likes and agrees about the appliances. There’s one thing that I know for sure. Maytag appliances perform above and beyond and I’m definitely a customer for life.

Thanks for sharing! I have also moved a few times and had 4 dishwashers in the past 7 years. They were all terrible and I agree that I think my dishes have to be basically clean before I load them in the dishwasher. I’m thrilled to add this dishwasher to my wish list for future upgrades/improvements. It looks fantastic and revives my hope that a dishwasher exists that is capable of doing all of the washing! Not to mention, doing it quietly enough so as to not wake up the baby!!
