Northside Snow Boots
I’ve always lived in an area that has a pretty intense winter. I have great memories as a child of having snow drifts the size of our house, my dad making an ice skating rink in the back yard, school closures and sledding. Although I live in a different state now than where I grew up in, we still get a good amount of snow in the winter. This winter has been no exception. It seems like every time I look out the window, it’s snowing again. We still have a solid 2 feet of snow in our front yard. With the snow comes the need to stay warm, because it’s inevitable that the whole family is going to venture out in it. From the first snowfall, until spring, my boys wear boots to school every day. I like knowing that their feet are protected and warm and they are able to enjoy their recess at school as well as activities we may do outside as a family.

Northside is a new name to me, but I’m quickly falling in love with the brand. We received a couple pair of Northside boots to try out. They’ve definitely served their purpose, but also are fashion forward.

The first set of boots that we received were for my 7 year old. They are the Northside Frosty Winter Boot. The boot comes in many sizes and styles. The size starts at a Toddler size 6 and goes all the way up to size 6 for big kids. There are 7 different styles for boys and girls, and we got an orange pair that coordinate perfectly with my son’s coat. My son is between a 13 and a 1, so we ordered him the size one.

As soon as I pulled them out of the box, I realized that they were lightweight and looked durable. We have a few other pairs of snow boots for the boys and these are a bit lighter than both the other pair. The bottom part of the boot has a rubber shell which does an excellent job of keeping the snow out. They have a velcro closure above the rubber sole and an elastic drawstring at the top of the snow to ensure a proper fit. The inside is lined with berber and my son says it feels soft and comfortable. I expect the Frosty boot to not only hold up for my 7 year old but for his brother and many other kids to come. The Frosty boots retail for around $30.

I’m pretty excited about these next pair of boots. Also from Northside are the Northside Women’s Greta Waterproof Snow Boot. I find it ironic that these boots crossed paths with me only a few weeks after I bought a pair. I had been on the search for some taller winter boots that I could wear with skinny jeans that would be fashionable and waterproof. I have some tall fall boots, but I don’t like to wear them when the snow really starts to come down. I found a pair that I wasn’t wild about, but I figured they would do the job. I guess it’s a good thing because now I have a comparison for the Greta boot. At $79.95, it was only about $10 more than what I paid for my other boots which were another brand. Honestly, I like the style of the Greta boot a lot more and they are definitely comfortable. They look so adorable with skinny jeans and are definitely waterproof. I’ve waded through some big snow drifts without my feet getting wet at all.

They are made of leather with a rubber sole. The inside is a fur lining and they lace all of the way up so you can control how tight or loose they are. They do come in full sizes only. I normally wear a 9 or 9 1/2 and the size 10 fits perfect. I would recommend ordering up a size as they seem to run just a tad small, especially if you are going to wear thicker socks with them. The traction on the bottom of the shoe is great and they come in black and brown. You can purchase the Northside Greta Women’s Boots through Amazon.

Northside also has men’s boots, the Men’s Northside Bighorn II Boots which are on sale on Amazon for $50. If they are anything like the Frosty or Greta boots, they are sure to be great quality.

I received a sample to facilitate this review. All opinions remain 100% my own.

Those look like a really comfortable boot! These would be perfect for my grandson. For some reason he really loves wearing boots and insists on it even when they aren’t needed! Silly boy!

Those are super cute! We don’t get much snow where I live but if we did, I would have to have these for the kids!

I really like the style of the Greta boots. We very rarely have snow but I would wear those boots anyway. My feet are always cold!

Yeah, I totally love the boot, just wish I would have gotten it earlier in the season. I’m excited to be able to wear them all of next year!
