Graco Gliding Swing and Bouncer
Graco has been a brand that I’ve trusted for years. I used multiple Graco products with both of my boys and always felt like they were safe and performed well. I knew that I wanted a swing and bouncer for baby girl, they were necessities with my boys. My boys would sleep in their swings for hours, they loved the motion. They also both loved being rocked in our glider, and I have to agree that the motion was even soothing for me. I am so excited to show you a new product, the Graco Glider Elite.
The Glider Elite is unique in so many ways. Instead of traditionally swinging back and forth or side to side, it simulates a gliding motion, much like if you were rocking baby in a glider. The motion of this swing is gentle and very smooth. Not only is the Elite a swing, it also doubles as a bouncer. You can actually take the seat portion out of the base and use it all around the house as a bouncer. I often have other moms ask if I used my bouncer or swing more and which I would get if I had to choose. With the Glider Elite, you don’t have to choose which is really nice.
The gliding swing can be used with babies that are 5.5-30 lbs and the bouncer can be used until your baby is 19 lbs. Other features include:
- A frame that uses 40% less space than other leading swings
- Carry-handle on the bouncer
- Option to plug-in or use batteries
- Vibration with two speed settings
- Roomy seat with body support and recline for baby comfort
- 6 gliding speeds
- 10 melodies and 5 nature sounds
- Timer mode helps extend battery life
- Canopy with soft toys
- 5 point harness keeps your child secure
Most of the time, I actually have my husband put toys or baby gear together. I decided that I would do it this time. Out of the box, there were quite a few pieces. I wish I would have taken a picture of all of the pieces because I have to admit that I was overwhelmed. Thankfully, Graco had very clear and concise instructions and I had the entire thing built in about 25 minutes which I might be a little bit proud of.
The material of the swing is very soft. I like that there is a removable canopy which means you could bring baby outside in the bouncer or swing and still have him or her shaded. There are lots of options for music and I like that there is a mute and volume control. There is nothing more aggravating than having a loud swing or toy that you can’t control the volume on, so I’m glad this was thought out. The bouncy seat seems to be very stable and I like that there is a 5 point harness to keep baby safe. To see more of an overview and the features in action, watch the video below.
This review is of course limited since we won’t be using it for another two months but I really have high hopes that because it is a Graco product, it will perform. A few improvements that I would like to see on the swing include an MP3 player outlet. I’ve seen a lot of swings that have this now, and it would be nice to be able to hook up my phone for other music options for baby. The carrying handle also gets in the way of the canopy and it seems like there needs to be more room between the two. Maybe if the carrying handle were positioned a bit higher, it wouldn’t have this problem. These are very minor issues though and would not deter me from buying the swing.
The Swing retails for $169.99, and you can purchase the Graco Glider Elite at Babies R’ Us.
