Balancing my Jobs

Resources for Studying
I love being a mom. It will always be my most important and cherished job. It’s not always easy, but it’s definitely worth it. Aside from being a mom, I also run this blog and work part time as an ultrasound technologist. It’s a bit of a juggle sometimes making sure that I have time for everything, but it’s all about priorities.

When I went to ultrasound school, I knew that I would need to get registered. I had to pass an ultrasound physics registry and then one specialty. The specialties include Abdomen, OB/GYN, Breast, Vascular and Neonatal Heads. I passed the Physics while I was still in school and then studied for Abdomen when I graduated. The first time I took the exam, I didn’t pass it. I started to look for other resources to help me study because obviously I did not know enough. I bought an extra text book, made flashcards and became even more devoted to studying. Looking back, I wish I would have known about cram. Cram actually allows you to create your own flashcards online or study from millions of flashcards already made.  I actually wrote mine by hand. It was so time consuming and I had my hand cramp up on multiple occasions. Luckily, I did pass my Abdomen exam the second time around. I did so much better on it.

Study resources for college

In the coming months, I will be studying to take a second registry. I have to have continuing education credits, so it helps with the education credits and also keeps me on my toes and helps me to continue to learn. I will definitely be using online flashcards and using these tips for test taking.

I enjoy all of the different jobs that I do and am glad that I wear many different hats when it comes to work; my mommy job, working at home, and working outside the home.

I’ve worked some pretty crummy jobs, but my most rewarding job hasn’t been for pay. I volunteer for an afterschool program every monday, and I love working with the kids!

It used to be affiliate marketing, but affiliate marketing has gone downhill over the years. So, I’d have to say blogging. Either way, both jobs have enabled me to work at home. 🙂
