Finish the Fight
As someone who works in healthcare, I come across a lot of different people. More often than not, I come across patients who are in pain or have a history of medical problems, sometimes even cancer. Listening to these stories, I realize just how much courage they have when they are fighting cancer or other health problems. In all reality, those who are fighting an illness like this have so many medical bills that they can’t afford a night in a hotel when they are traveling for treatments.  The American Cancer Society is doing something about this.

From the American Cancer Society:
Thousands of cancer patients can’t afford a place to stay when the best treatment is far from home. A room shouldn’t be the difference between life and death. Last year the American Cancer Society provided lodging for 50,000 patients and caregivers. Let’s continue to make sure that everyone who needs a room gets one! Join the American Cancer Society and make noise to finish the fight against cancer. Join the American Cancer Society and make noise to finish the fight against cancer.

The American Cancer Society wants to make sure that every individual who is fighting cancer, has a place to stay when receiving treatment away from home. They are running a campaign right now that allows you to donate $10 by texting ROOM to 41518. I’ve already donated $10 and hope that the small contribution helps provide a safe haven for a night or two to someone in need of it.

Will you help someone finish their fight and donate?

This is such a great cause. I know someone right now that needs a place to stay when her 4 year old daughter gets cancer treatment. It’s heartbreaking.

What a great campaign! We have way too much cancer in my family, so I know the hardships a diagnosis can create.

This is such a dear cause to my heart, BOTH my parents are cancer survivors, they are fortunate to live in a large city, but I know that’s not always the case for everyone so this is a marvelous campaign.
