Baby Essentials
As a mom of 3, soon to be 4, kids there are some items that I think are essential when having a baby, a couple of those being a bassinet and changing table.  When I bring my newborn home I like to have them sleep in my room for awhile in a bassinet.  It makes it convenient to feed him/her during the night and gives me peace of mind knowing the baby is close and safe.  For me a bassinet is a must have item.  Another essential item on my list when having a newborn is having a changing table.  It seems like you’re constantly changing diapers with a newborn and having a changing table makes all the difference.  You don’t want to be laying the baby down on the floor all day so you’re bending over to change diapers, especially when you’re recovering from child birth!  It’s great to have a changing station up high with all the items you need close by to make your life a little easier.

Countours Classique 3-in-1 Bassinet Overview
For the reasons listed above I was thrilled to be able to review the Contours Classique 3-in-1 Bassinet.  I am just a couple weeks away from having baby #4 and have been working hard to get things ready.  Having this bassinet will definitely make my life easier and I’m excited to bring baby home and try it out.  When you have a baby you accumulate a lot of baby gear so it’s great when things are multifunctional like the Contours Classique 3-in-1.  It serves as a bassinet, Moses basket, and a changing table which is so nice because it saves space!

A few things I love about the bassinet:

  • The color and fabric.  The wooden sides are a pretty dark cherry color and the fabric is gender neutral being a classic creamy color.
  • It has lots of storage space.  The storage organizer holds your diapers, wipes, and ointments on the side of the bassinet making it easily accessible when changing your baby. It also has a basket on the bottom of the bassinet that can hold babies essentials such as blankets, clothing, toys, etc.
  • It has wheels and rolls.  I want the bassinet in my bedroom at night but during the day when I’m throughout the house doing everyday activities it’s nice to have baby close.  I love being able to roll it into whatever room I’m in!  Then baby is kept up high and safe from siblings.  The wheels also have a safety lock which is a nice feature when you want it to stay in place.
  • Designed to be used by infants up to 3 months of age or up to a weight of 15 pounds.  Eventually baby will be sleeping in his/her own room but can comfortable sleep in this bassinet for those first few months.

Moses Basket

  • It’s easy to pick up with it’s sturdy handles.  You can take baby into any room with you to keep them close.  I also think this would be great to take on vacation as an alternative to a big pack and play.
  • It has breathable mesh sides.  Nice so you know baby has some air flow!
  • Comes with a washable cloth fitted sheet.  When you have a baby there are lots of messes so it’s nice that you can take the sheet off and wash it.

Changing Table

  • The changing table can be used even after the baby outgrows the bassinet.  It’s designed to be used for infants up to 25 lbs.
  • The changing table is also very easy to attach and detach from the bassinet and store underneath when not in use
  • It has a soft pad so it’s comfortable for baby but also an easy wipe away surface which makes clean up easy.

This bassinet is absolutely precious. Unfortunately Spencer refused a bassinet but if I had this one he’d have been out of luck. 😉

I love products that are convertible. They cost so much to start with but being able to use them for different purposes is a way to make them last longer.
