Sick Just Got Real
Since we are officially deep into cold and flu season, its inevitable that sickness is going to be passed around. We’ve passed around the never ending cold twice in our family now and I’m ready for us all to be healthy. When sick gets real, the pediatric brands of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare are there with three solutions:

  • Children’s Advil®
  • Children’s Robitussin®
  • Children’s Dimetapp®

For my older boys that are 9 and 11, we’ve used products like Children’s Dimetapp® Multi-Symptom Cold Relief Dye-Free, and Children’s Robitussin® Extended-Release 12 Hour Cough Relief. They’ve helped to give them relief when nothing else has and have given me peace of mind as a parent.

While Children’s Advil® is a great solution for my kids that are 3, 9 and 11, Infants’ Advil® White Grape works wonders on my 8 month old. We’ve used it for teething and shots. I like that it comes with a syringe for easy dosing and is suitable for kids ages 6-23 months.

America’s Greatest School Nurse Contest
Speaking of medicine and being sick, it always seems to be worse to be sick when you are away from home. I remember a few different school nurses from my elementary school days. One in particular stands out to me. I have a memory of becoming very ill and having a fever. I went to lay down in the office and my school nurse offered me comfort, a popsicle and took my vitals. She checked on me periodically until my mom was able to pick me up and helped ease my mind as little bit as I was quite upset. Now as a mom, I depend on a good school nurse when my kids are sick.

Do you know a great school nurse? Thanks to Pfizer, now through February 23, you can nominate your school nurse for America’s Greatest School Nurse Contest. It’s a great way to honor and give recognition to those nurses who are there for our kids when we can’t be. One nurse from each state plus Washington D.C. will win a prize valued at $500 and will be entered to win the grand prize: the title of America’s Greatest School nurse and a trip for a getaway from school sickness. Sounds pretty great, right? Nominating a nurse is easy. All you have to do is go to America’s Greatest School Nurse Contest, nominate a nurse and then stay tuned for voting which will be March 27-April 16. Winners will be announced on May 5!

Yes! Definitely! Dimetapp is a must in my house, because they do such a great job at masking that medicinal taste my children have no problem taking it. 🙂
I try to go the natural route with illness (lots of orange juice, strawberries and chicken soup) but sometimes you just have to have something a little stronger. 🙂
