Looking for a Great Deal?
Anyone that knows me well is aware that I am a coupon clipping, deal seeking, frugal kind of girl. I have multiple sites that I check daily to find the best deals out there. Buxr is a new shopping deal website that I’ve started to frequent. The site includes hot deals, forums, and contests. You can sort the hot deals by:

Country Inns Weekend

In my vlog I promised pictures of our weekend, and I of course wanted to let everyone know more about it. We checked into the Country Inns & Suites  Friday afternoon and walked into this beautiful room.

I had my boys with me because DH wasn’t off work yet, so we looked around and explored. We munched on cookies from the lobby, checked out their little library they had, and went and looked at the pool.

That night, Marsh and I headed to Lagoon, an amusement park about 20 minutes away.

The next day we picked up the kids and headed out to visit the Tabernacle at temple square, an activity that Country Inns Road Trips suggests. We had a great time at temple square and then headed over to The Gateway for Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and to let the boys play in the fountains.

Then of course we headed back to do some swimming in the pool.

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend. I loved a lot of little details about the room and service such as:

  • The makeup remover towlette in the bathroom (seems small but I was impressed)
  • The continental breakfast
  • Beds were soft and comfortable. I can’t tell you how many hotels we’ve stayed in that have horrible beds
  • The staff was friendly. At one point I went down to the front desk to ask for a hair tie. I had forgotten one. It was something they didn’t have, but gave me a rubber band to help me improvise. I was glad that they were willing to help with something so small that they could have just brushed off.
  • There was a big beautiful mirror in the bathroom and plenty of counter space.
  • Free wireless internet that was FAST. The vlog that I uploaded in my last post was done in less than 2 minutes!

Country Inns also has a great deal going now that if you book 2 or more nights, you get 15% off, and their gold points plus program helps you earn free nights!

I could go on and on. I know that we will specifically look for Country Inns now when we travel. It was an awesome last minute family vacation and we were able to do a lot of fun things. Thanks to Country Inns for making this getaway fantastic!

Road Trip

It seems hard to get away for vacation. My husband works full time, I work part time, money always seems to be an issue, and of course we have two little kids to travel with.

Country Inn and SuitesThanks to Country Inns and Suites, we will be experiencing our own little getaway this weekend with two free nights! We’ll be going up to stay in Salt Lake City, UT on Friday and Saturday and have some fun activities planned. Country Inns actually has a road trip plan that gives suggestions to inexpensive and fun attractions, so I’m all over that one!  My husband & I are going to spend the first night alone with NO kids…gasp! (That really doesn’t happen very often.) Then we will pick them up from my sister’s home and have them stay with us on Saturday night. We still have yet to decide what attractions in Salt Lake we will be going to, but I’m sure it will be a great mini vacation, and I will be sure to keep you updated.

So I want to know: What’s your idea of the best last-minute vacation?

Free Ecards

picture-15Doesn’t it seem like everything revolves around the internet these days? E-cards are no exception. They make life convenient and are great for any occasion. Got free ecards is a great site that offers ecards – for free!  Their free birthday ecards are the perfect solution to let a friend or family member know that you are thinking of them on their special day.

 Upon browsing around their site, I found that they offer free printable cards as well. A lot of times, I don’t have a card on hand if I am going to a birthday party or other event.  These cards will be a great resource to print out, and I love that they are free.

The website is very easy to navigate and there are so many cards to choose from. I really like the friendshippicture-17 ecards. They let your friends know you care. I sent this cute flavors of summer ecard to my sister. It’s got great animation and is just all around cute. I noticed that you can add photo and voice to the card as well, which is a nice feature for an ecard. When sending the card you also have the option to send preview or send by Twitter as a direct message. Pretty, cool huh?
The last ecard that I thought was really cool was the photo cards. You simply upload a picture into a premade frame, enter in the recipients information, and click to send. It’s that easy!
This is a great site that I will be bookmarking. Did I mention that I love that it’s free?

Pampers & Huggies at Target

This is a YMMV, (Your mileage may vary), but Pampers & Huggies were 30% off at my local Target.  I picked up 2 boxes of the  Pampers Baby Dry, both in size 4  for $20 each.  They both had 126 diapers in them, making them about $.16 per diaper.  These normally retail for $28.99, so it’s a great deal.  They were on like 6 different end caps in the store, so make sure you look well if you decide to go in.  If you have any Pamper’s coupons, it makes the deal even sweeter.  Between this and the Amazon diaper sale, I’m set on diapers for Rowan for about 6 months.

Awesome Old Navy Sale

cn1054632I just got back from Old Navy with a LOT of clothes. Stuff for me, DH, and the boys.
All in all, I spent $63.88 and got 28 items. That averages out to be $2.28 an item.  Retail value for all of this is over $215 . It’s not all t-shirts and socks either. I got 6 hoodies for the boys, workout clothes for myself, and some lounge clothes for DH, shorts, and much more!

Want in? Old Navy is having an additional 50% off their clearance items IN store.  There are also some awesome coupons circulating from Old Navy Weekly. I bought a $60 off $100 purchase off ebay for $8.50. There are other coupons still available at Old Navy Weekly as well as on Ebay. Pampers Diapers Deal

51ip467bpfl_aa280_pibundle-1topright00_aa280_sh20_Right now at Amazon, you can get a great deal on Pamper’s diapers.  If you use to code PMPRSJN9 you get 15% off.  You also get another 15% off when you sign up with subscribe and save.  Subscribe and save is basically where you get diapers delivered to you once a month, or however often you want them.  Subscribe and save is really easy to cancel too if you don’t want the service every month.  Wait until you get your diapers, and then go into your amazon account and simply cancel.  Rowan is in a size 4, and the Baby Dry is around $25 for a box of 126 which comes out to be about $.19 a diaper.  Even with a coupon at Walmart and Target, these are usually around $.23 a diaper, so this is a great deal.  I know everyone has their preference for diapers, but I have tried just about everything out there, and reviewed them!  (See December 2008 & January 2009 archive for reviews.)  I am a Pampers believer through and through.  So if you use Pampers, jump on this deal, it’s a good one!
